Soledad (Sol) and Dominga (Ming) have moved from the Philippines to New Orleans, LA.  They are now living with their evil stepmother Vea because their father abandoned them and returned to their old home. The two girls get to know some unlikely friends in their neighborhood who might turn out to be allies and help them find happiness after all.
