Tia loves to sing and has dreams of someday making it big.  She has been able to find happiness in music until one night while at choir practice, she hears gunshots ring out in the neighborhood.  In the process of a carjacking, an innocent baby is killed.  Suddenly, memories of something from Tia's past come rushing to the surface.  She has always known that her dad was in prison, but her mom has always refused to talk to her about what he did to end up there.  Now people are whispering about her and her mother and Tia realizes that it is time to confront her past if she is going to be able to move forward with her life.
