Trace

by Pat Cummings
Genre:  Realistic Fiction, Paranormal

When Trace Carter's parents were killed in an accident, he was sent to live with his Aunt Lea in New York.  She is cool, but has zero experience raising kids so the two of them are trying to figure out a new normal.  Trace is haunted by dreams of his parents' deaths and by the feeling that it was all his fault.  He is trying to make friends with the kids at his new school, but he hasn't really found anyone that he is really comfortable with.  When he gets to pick a study group for his history project, he picks the most popular girl, Kali, and Ty who is sort of cool to hang out with.  Presley gets assigned to their group and they agree to meet at the New York City Public Library.  But Trace never makes it to the meeting because he gets lost in the basement of the library and finds a kid wandering around.  This is no ordinary kid though, because nobody else can see him.  What Trace discovers in the library will change his life forever.
