Nora and her dad decide to go on a hike in a canyon on the day that marks the first anniversary of her mother's death.  It has been a difficult year for both of them and they are hoping this trip will help them get on with their lives.  But they have barely begun when a wall of water surprises them.  Nora's dad is able to push her to safety and she can only watch as he is swept away.  Nora is determined to go after her dad and is confident that she can find him alive.  She has to brave the desert elements as well as watch out for snakes and other wildlife.  Nora has never felt so lost and alone...it will take everything she has to continue this journey.
