Mia is excited about the new school year.  The prospect of a new teacher, new friends, and continued work with her parents at their hotel makes life seem pretty great.  But on the first day of school, Mia doesn't hit it off with her teacher, she learns about a new immigration law that might be passed in California, and the motel is suddenly hit with some concerns from their investors.  Mia is determined to get through it all and with the help of some good friends, it is possible that everything will work out okay.
